Prof. Revaz S. Zaride’s 80th Year’s Anniversary
This year, Prof. REVAZ S. ZARIDZE, emeritus of Tbilisi State University, a well-known scientist in the field of radio physics, computational physics and modeling, who developed the Method of Auxiliary Sources (MAS) in applied electrodynamics, celebrated his 80th year’s anniversary.

Prof. Reviaz Zaridze at the EMCoS Users’ Meeting, 25th May, 2018, Nuremberg, Germany
Prof. Zaridze was born in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, USSR, on May 8, 1938. In 1962 he graduated from Tbilisi State University (TSU) with Master Degree in low temperature physics. He was accepted as a radio engineer at the Department of Semiconductors’ Physics in TSU. In 1965 he was accepted as an assistant professor at the Department of General Physics where he was teaching the laboratory and practical lessons in general physics for students of the Physics Department. He received his Candidate of Science (Ph.D.) degree in radiophysics, including quantum radiophysics, from the TSU, Georgia, in 1973. Academician M. Mirianashvili, the head of Department of General Physics, was an adviser of Prof. Zaridze’s Ph.D. thesis. Title of the thesis was “The Method of Discrete Sources and Collocation Method in 2-D Electrodynamics Problems”.
XXIIIrd International Seminar/Workshop (DIPED)-2018

The XXIIIth International Seminar/Workshop on Direct and Inverse Problems of Electromagnetic and Acoustic Wave Theory (DIPED-2018) was organized by the IEEE MTT/ED/AP Georgian and IEEE Ukraine Section (West) MTT/ED/AP/EP/SSC Societies Joint Chapters. Technical Co-Sponsorship was provided by IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, Electron Devices Society, Microwave Theory and Techniques Society, IEEE Section Ukraine. Also participate universities was Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Tbilisi, Georgia and Pidstryhach Institute for Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics, NASU, Lviv, Ukraine In Cooperation with IEEE Electronic Packaging Society, Solid State Circuits Society.
This year, seminar was held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Tbilisi, Georgia, on September 24-27. The workshop provides an opportunity to exchange scientific results and current research progress in the area of electromagnetics, electrodynamics, antennas and acoustics theory and applications. Just like previous years, this time presenters were granted for the Best Young Speaker Award. It was our PhD student Tamar Nozadze and M.s Student Vakhtang Barbakadze who took one of those.

As a special occasion this year, the event coincided with the 100th anniversary of Tbilisi State University and the 80th anniversary of Professor Revaz S. Zaride, who is permanent co-chairman of all previous DIPEDs, organizer and first Chairman of Georgian Chapters.
12th International Conference on Communications, Electromagnetics and Medical Applications (CEMA'17)

IEEE UKRCON-2017
The IEEE First Ukraine Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (UKRCON-2017) is an peer-reviewed international conference focusing on research advances and business/academic applications. IEEE UKRCON-2017 was hold in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Kyiv, Ukraine from May 29 to June 2, 2017. Main sponsor of this event was IEEE Ukraine Section in partnership with The European Microwave Association (EuMA) and National Aviation University, Kyiv, Ukraine.
IEEE UKRCON is the flagship conference for researchers, students, and professionals in the area of Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ukraine and around the world to meet and disseminate their research advancements and discoveries, to network and exchange ideas in order to strengthen existing partnerships and foster new collaborations.
The First IEEE UKRCON-2017 general theme, Celebrating 25 Years of IEEE Ukraine Section, reflects the profound impact of IEEE on the Ukrainian Science for the last 25 years. IEEE Ukraine Section was founded on November 21, 1991, representing the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in Ukraine and Republic of Georgia. For 25 years, It helps Ukrainian scientists find ways for cooperation with various international partners through IEEE conferences and grants.
